What is REO?

Providing Mentors: The most successful business persons are those who actively seek out and develop a network of trusted business advisors. One of the perennial weaknesses of many small businesses, however, is the lack of access to trusted advisors when the time comes to make important decisions. These decisions will impact the long term health and vitality of the business, so they need and deserve conversation with advisors who have experience and expertise in the area of concern. REO can put the small business owner in contact with an appropriate mentor who can provide guidance for entering the renewable energy business arena.

Contacts: Over the years, BizTech and SEC have gathered an impressive database of contacts that are available through REO.

Market Information: Detailed information on the current state of the renewable energy market will be at your finger tips thanks to our relationships with the National Renewable Energy Labs (NREL), the University of Alabama at Huntsville (UAH) and the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA).

Business Incubation Services: BizTech helps technical entrepreneurs refocus their thinking onto a business model that monetizes their technology. BizTech puts clients in touch with:

  • experienced entrepreneurs and advisors

  • an “instant office” that can be expanded and contracted at a moment's notice

  • group experience in the incubator facility.

Access to Capital: The Huntsville Angel Network (HAN) improves the efficiency of capital acquisition for startup and developmental companies, and makes the investment process more controlled for investors. They do this via 15 other Angel networks in the Southeast with which HAN is affiliated. Another great opportunity to gather capital is the NREL Growth Forum held every October.

Business Planning: Available on ad hoc basis from REO. Also available via the Fast Trac program sponsored by the Women’s Business Center of North Alabama.
